Maoershan Biosphere Reserve locates in North of Guangxi province, in the center of North Guiling tourism zone. Around the reserve there are Bajiaozai National Forest Park and National Daxia Geography Park in Ziyuan County, Zi river and Wupai river drifting sites, Longsheng hotspring and Longjing rice paddies in Longsheng county. The area of the reserve is 17008.5 hectare, is listed as one of the 16 most important biodiversity hotspots and one of the 14 most important international value zones in China. Since from 1998, it become a member of Man and Biosphere China network.
